Bukomansimbi Outreach

In line with our core value of partnership and collaborations, Imaging the World Africa (ITWA) together with Imaging the World – Centre for Health and Innovation (ITW-CHI) in partnership with the Rotary Club of Kampala Ssese conducted a medical camp in Bukomansimbi district. The district is a rural district located in central Uganda, about 153 Kilometers from Kampala - the district has a a population of over 151,000 people served by about 14 health facilities (DHO, 2019). A total of 66 people received ultrasound during the one-day medical camp – scans performed ranged from Obstetric, Gynecology, Abnormal and Breast. ITWA/ITW-CHI plan on incorporating ultrasound camps into their routine annual workplans as a strategic approach to ensuring that more and more pregnant women and the general population access ultrasound imaging.
