ITW - Empowering Women

At Imaging The World we continually work to empower women.

We are a woman led organization, focused on offering access to appropriate care, especially for teenage girls and young women. A recent Uganda Demographic and Health Survey showed that at least 25% of girls aged 15-18 in rural areas of Uganda, have had at least one child or are pregnant, so this focus is critical.

We aim to empower women in healthcare decision making, both for themselves and for their families via obstetric ultrasound. The information gleaned from the ultrasound scan helps women understand when they will deliver (accurate dating), decide where they should deliver (health center or hospital) and how they are likely to deliver (vaginal, breech, c-section)

Additionally, we assist in professional development and job creation for women and girls in both rural and urban communities in sub-saharan Africa. We support midwives, nurses, sonographers, doctors, medical assistants, data collectors and more, with capacity and capability building of new skills (including computer sciences), with equal employment opportunity, fair pay and living wages.

We also always ensure Data security and privacy for women patients through our ITW teleradiology model.
