Sherri Fannon
Sherri L. Fannon DNP, MSN, RN, CHSE is an Assistant Professor, Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator, Co-Coordinator of Simulation for Academic Excellence and Chair of the Curriculum Committee at Kirkhof College of Nursing, Grand Valley State University. She received her Doctor of Nursing Practice with a focus in leadership and quality improvement at the University of Michigan and her Master of Science in Nursing Education at Michigan State University. Her clinical background, prior to going into academia, included working 12 years in the pediatric and neonatal intensive care.
She has a passion for educating both graduate and undergraduate nursing students and faculty members. She has been published twice in 2 peer reviewed journals and continues to focus her research on curriculum modalities, working with interprofessional healthcare students. She has been a consultant and implemented quality assurance initiatives at universities, establishing standardized patient case portrayal and interrater reliability for student evaluations in summative objective structured clinical examinations. Additionally, she has received federal grant funding for educational resources and presented, disseminating her research on both, state and national levels.
