Nedelina Teneva

Nedelina focuses on both machine learning research and building & leading ML-focused products and initiatives. Most recently, at Amazon, she built and led a team of ML scientists and engineers tackling a range of web-scale content classification tasks for search and question answering for the Alexa personal assistant. She has experience applying ML in several different domains: search and optimization, NLP, signal processing, and molecular and computational biology. Her work has been published and presented at top-tier machine learning and statistics venues such as the International Conference of Machine Learning (ICML) and the Society for Artificial Intelligence and Statistics (AISTATS), where she received the AISTATS2016 Notable Paper award. Dr Teneva’s teaching experience spans more than 10 years at various institutions, including the University of Chicago, Southern Methodist University, and most recently, UC Berkeley.
